Jabal Thawr (Cave Thawr)
Jabal Thawr stands south of Masjid al-Haram. In its cave the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr as-Siddiq hid for three nights at the start of the Hijrah to Madinah, as mentioned in Surah at-Tawbah (9:40).
The climb is longer and steeper than Jabal al-Nour — allow two to three hours for the round trip on foot. Many pilgrims simply view the mountain from below as part of a Ziyarat drive.
